October

i can't believe it is already october.

i have a love/hate relationship with this month. i used to get really excited about my birthday, but now that i am in my 30's (gasp!) i don't look foward to it too much. what i do hate about october is halloween. i hate everything about it. i hate people in costumes. i hate going door to door asking strangers for candy. i hate haunted houses. i hate people scaring me and them thinking it's funny. i also REALLY hate the fact that i have to shove all this hatred down for this crazy holiday so my kids don't develope the same fears/feelings i do. so far, they love it, so so does mommy. as of right now, shorty girl is going to be tinkerbell and the boy is going to be a policeman. i am still scouring craigslist and waiting for my friend to get her sewing machine fixed because they MAY be m&ms.

in other daily news.......

*all of us got our flu shot. although, it seems as the 'regular' flu is not the concern, but the swine flu. but, we are NOT getting that vaccine.....don't get me started on that one.

*richard is still working like a crazy man.....in fact today he worked from 6am until midnight tonite. *sigh*.

*the boy is learning like crazy at school. everyday he comes home telling me about some new adventure he embarked on and usually has a song that goes along with it.

*shorty girl had this crazy eye boo boo....started off as a small scratch and ended up covering half her eye. she was a trooper and let the doctor poke around her eye without a fuss. he had no idea what it was, and gave us some antibotics and said "let's cross our fingers". gotta love our doctors!

*we went to see toy story 1 and toy story 2 at the 'big movies'. the kids did great. i brought enough food with us to last a week - or so i thought. they ate all of it by the beginning of the 2nd movie and wanted more. if they keep eating this way, richard is going to have to get a second job to afford our grocery bill.
