Bluebonnets are Back!

we finally found some good bluebonnets! the past few years we have missed the flowers due to drought and/or time just getting away from us. my extremely talened friend kristin took AWEOMSE pics of the kids (and their muddy shoes!!). fun was had by all.

it was nearly impossible for me to pick my favorites.....kristin is just too damn good!!! (that's what she said! hehehehehe.....had to say it)

i LOVE this one of their muddy feet.....priceless!

Elephant Farts

we (my dad, brother, me and the kids) went to the zoo today. it was a beautiful sunny day and we thought we would take advantage of it before the million degree weather sets in.

we have always taken the kids pictures by the letter K (for our last name) ever since the boy was itty bitty. they are so funny - they know exactly where it is adn that i always take their picture there!

i was worried about the sun and the kids getting burned, so i got them some cool safari looking hats for them to wear. they pretty much look cute in whatever i put them in, so it was no suprise that they looked super cute in these!! ;-)

we got to see Africa Live 2, which is a new part of the zoo they just opened. it is really neat - the enclosures look so much more natural versus a 'cage' type feeling. we saw Lukcy the elephant. as you can guess by the title of this blog post, we were in PRIME position for when Lucky farted. elephants farts are HUGE!!! it was quite a treat.

we also got to see the hippos up close and personal......and of course, they pooped for us as well. there seemed to be a theme to this visit....

earlier last week, we went downtown to my parents favorite restraunt, Casa Rio.

they have been going there since the dawn of time. it is a really good restraunt and the kids love it. this time we had to sit inside instead of outside on the riverwalk, but it was still fun.

i mean, really........elephant farts?!?!?!?

Bussey's Flea Market

My friend Kristin and I decided to rent a booth at the local flea market (swap meet, whatever) to get rid of some of the stuff that was crowding our houses. it was A BLAST. such a great idea. we had a booth with two tables and were able to park right behind the booth. richard loaded up the car for us and it was jammed packed! it tooks us over an hour to set everything up!

let me just say.........we met the CRAZIEST people there! we also met some very nice people (who can forget BOB.....the guy who was hitting on my mother in law...eeewww!) we also had our palms read by Mama Laura (one of the crazies). there was a very nice woman who was buying a bunch of yarn from kristin but had no teeth. then there was the man who offered $500 for amanda and crystal's puppy. the best part? people watching! lots of um......interesting people there. the phrase of the weekend? "Can I get that in ones?" ;-)

it was a ton of fun.

Let it Snow! Tatoos! Valentine's Day! Adoption Day!

that about sums it all up.

my father in law brought the kids back some snow from his recent trip to colorado. they LOVED it!

my friends jami and kristin and i all went out and got tatoos. well, jami and i did - kristin is next! my tatoo took 45 minutes! OUCH! I TOTALLY LOVE IT! kristin actually drew it....she is so talented!

*and yes, i realize that the kid's names are now online...it's ok*

the kids racked up for valentine's day. i hit it big at the thrift store, so they got spoiled.

we also celebrated another adoption day for the boy. my mom always orders the kids a cookie bouqet (sp?) and this year's theme was tigger and pooh. it was a hit. 4 years!!! it is amazing how time flies...

and there ya have it.

Shorty Girl is 4!

wow, i can't believe that i am the parent to two 4 year olds.

shorty girl has only been home with us for the past 2 years, but i truly can't remember my life without her in it. she is spunky, stubborn, extremely caring, super smart, very observant, grumpy, whiney, funny, cuddly, and of course, amazingly beautiful inside and out. she LOVES all her new dollies (which is new for her since i have this fear of dolls, but i broke down this christmas and got her ONE, and then everyone else also got her ONE, so now she has MILLIONS), but her favorite toys are all her stuffed animals. she is very good at 'mothering' them. she is starting to get more into movies now.......the only ones, however, that she will watch ALL THE WAY is Hairspray (the new one) and Mama Mia (the new one). she is a great singer and can shake her tooshie! she has taken over the chore of feeding brixton every morning and nite. she is a wonderful helper around the house as well! when i do laundry she is always there to put the shirts on hangers for me. she is such a special little girl.

i HATE the fact that i wasn't able to be part of the first two years of her life. i hate that she had to go through what nobody should EVER have to go through. BUT, i LOVE the fact that i now get the rest of her life. i get the best years of her life.

i get HER for the rest of MY life. and i wouldn't have it any other way.

A Day at the Park

took the kids out to the park yesterday. it was COLD. the sun was out so i thought there would be some warmth, but nope - i was wrong. the kids lasted about 1.4 seconds before they started complaining they were cold, so we went for a walk around the park. got some nice pics and some fresh air.

i also tried to take a picture of the 3 of us together. don't be jealous of my mad photography skills..... ;-)

not that i am biased or anything, but i think my kids are B-E-A-utiful.
